These days, looking for a job is difficult, especially for youth around the world. In countries like Colombia, there are either many young adults who do not work in the areas they studied at university or young adults who work where they are poorly paid. In my opinion, this situation happens for three reasons: the job requirements, employment field and the lack of knowledge about how find a job.
Firstly, a lot of companies hired their employees for a short time and demand a specific skills and things like experience, studies, age etc. This causes that young people do not find a good job and do not be hired. It is a true that companies prefer employees with more professional experience and studies that employees who had finished their major.
Secondly, as young adult that I am I have been the hard competition in the employment filed. I have not been hired in a respectable place. When I did a lot interviews right after I finished education degree, schools hired teachers with more studies like postgraduate degree and 5 or 7 years of experience with children. In my case and this is not far from the experience of other young adult, this result in that I accepted a job who do not paid me a good salary and bring me poor working conditions.
Thirdly, students do not receive a class or conferences about how find a job or present a good interview. That is why when they apply for an interview, they do not how answer the question, how manage their body language this is a big disadvantage. One consequence of this is the desperate need of find a job to cover their needs and the fact young people choose work in other things and not on their passions.
Finally, overview is discouraging. It is a priority for society find a real solutions and improve the conditions of opportunities for the youth
