University time is the most memorable time in everyone’s life, then students will have to decide whether to live with family or start independent. In my opinion, while living far from home comes with certain challenges, it’s benefits can outweigh the disadvantages.
One major drawback is, living away from home can be expensive. Besides having to pay a large fee for college, students also have to pay electricity and water bills, rent, food and drinks bills on their own, which is a big problem with poor families. As a result, students have to do extra jobs to earn more money. In the long time, overworking will not only affect academic performance but also physical and mental health. In addition, not living with parents can cause some students to get out of control and becom playfull. They can lose themselves in pleasures such as: gaming, uncontrolled shopping, and frequent skipping of school.
Nevertheless, living far from home during college can bring many benefits to students. The greatest benefit is that they can improve their independence, learning time- management and money- management skills. Being away from the protection of their parents makes them have to be independent, find ways to handle and face the problems which help them become more mature. Morever, living far frome home allows them to live more freely, to follow their own schedule and not to worry about disturbing anyone. This allows them to freely explore new things and enjoy their youth.
In short, I belive that living far from home during university brings more benefits than disadvantages.
