The debate over economic enrichment as the most crucial target of many governments has been a continuous topic to be discussed. Nevertheless, many individuals argue that other shorts of progress should be given equal importance for a country. In my view, Economic growth is not the only strategy that develops our living standards. There are other components in a nation that comprehensively provides a better lifestyle.
A country’s state of development is measured by different elements namely life expectancy, mortality rates, unemployment rates, literacy rates, developed areas, medical access, technological advancement, innovation, political stability etc where economic progress is just one of them. This element alone only visualizes the numbers that a nation has achieved or could not achieve but it does not provide a detailed overview and sometimes can be manipulated leading to inaccuracy and lack of transparency of data.
This being said, one element of development tools can never be the only strategy in making a nation developed. Governmnent should therefore allocate necessary resources in other options. Whether a nation is literate enough to get jobs inside or outside a country is an important strategy that governments need to give importance. Equal access to medical services in every area need to be confirmed. Besides that, political stability needs to be ensured, innovations in different fields should be given more recognition. Moreover, transportation systems and infrastructure advancement in a nation should be given utmost priority since it can contribute in smoother connectivity locally and globally leading to more developed business opportunities and increase in tourism.
In conclusion, viewing governments most important goal through the lens of economic progress alone can not bring the enrichment required. Giving equal importance to other element of a developed nation from literacy rates to infrastructure development is required in addition to that.
