Regarding some ways of being indulged in our favorite activities, it is often acknowledged that our hobbies would be absolutely meaningless without encountering challenges. From my perspective, I completely disagree with this statement, and the essay below will point out several reasons for my own viewpoint.
There are different reasons why many people believe that having challenging hobbies is highly beneficial. Firstly, having an exposure to risky activities might probably provide many individuals with survival skills against criminals. For instance, the more sports enthusiasts consider boxing as their own interests, the more they can protect themselves from thieves. Secondly, there are some special cases indicating that children who have challenging hobbies might have better cognitive skills than others with simple ones. Playing football possibly exemplifies this justification, as a child may not only develop both intuitive and logical thinking, but also ensure their physical health.
On the contrary, there could be possible drawbacks of letting many individuals have hobbies with unsettling situations. To begin with, there might be a great number of activities that are physically demanding, which could be extremely dangerous for many people. For example, if individuals have special health conditions, including allergies and skin problems, they may not be allowed to go hiking. Furthermore, being immersed in those daunting hobbies may be extremely time-consuming for some people, especially students. To exemplify, most students have to devote most of their time to many assignments and projects, so it would be indisputably worthless for them to take part in those inappropriate and meaningless activities.
To summarize, although it is captivating to have a hobby with challenges, we should let people live with their own preferred activities, which also means that even the simplest ones could bring them more pleasure than ever.
