Globalization is a political, economical and historical phenomenom noticeable since the Antique period, but split between different timelines. We are currently experiencing the 3rd one since the discovering of America by Crisobal Colombus in 1492. Despite the worldwide exchanging of the ressources has allowed a global way of life improvement, I believe that globalization has not ensured any sustainable and equal growth, and therefore, that people criticising are only questionning globaliation as a unique way of progress.
First of all, globalization has jeopardised the environemental sustainability of our planet. In fact, by allowing the spread of technologies and resources, the industrial revolution of the 18th century hapenned and has been deppened by the 4 others until nowadays, which undermined out climate and triggered the global warming. This could be underlined by the mining and the selling of raw materials such as gas and oil since the 18th century to foreign countries which has constantly strenghtened the ozone layer depelction.
Moreover, from an economical viewpoint, the inequality of wealth ha been getting worse with globalization. In fact, states have made more profits from the exchange of ressources than others, where hunger, infant mortality and sweatshops are rampant. For example in low-income countries, where human disasters are widerspread show that globalization has not been a synonym of life quality improvement for all.
Finally, other issues occured with mondialisation and are still not well answered. In fact, due to wars, political threats or hunger, forced displacements has risen since the 1950’s and many asylium seekers try to reach states which benefied from globalization, but all are not hosted. For example, in the European Union, some coutries have implemented policies in order to tackle immigration, instead of hosting them.
To conclude, I believe that people criticising globalisation by underscoring the climate disaster, the lack of equality and the remaining challenges triggered by globalisation spotlight the limit of globalisation as the only way of progress
