From my perspective, although globalization can negatively impact prosperity, it plays a crucial role in fostering international unity and improving financial stability.
Two main advantages of globalization are its ability to boost economies and enhance access to resources through trade. Many individuals find employment opportunities due to these global connections. For example, before 2010, there were no fast-food restaurants in our country. However, after establishing connections with several other nations, many fast-food outlets opened, allowing people to secure jobs. Consequently, this shift has contributed to economic growth.
Furthermore, sharing resources between countries can strengthen their relationships. However, one significant drawback is that nations may begin to overlook their own cultural identities. Nowadays, young people often prefer purchasing foreign products over domestic goods, which can lead to a loss of traditions and negatively affect a country’s gross domestic product.
Therefore, if globalization goes unchecked, we may face challenges similar to those experienced by underdeveloped countries. Another downside of globalization is environmental degradation, particularly air pollution. The increase in resource consumption can lead to excessive use and pollution.
In conclusion, while globalization presents several negative effects, its advantages outweigh the disadvantages. I believe that if we can find a balance between addressing the negatives and emphasizing the positives, globalization will greatly benefit nations.
