The charts compared the class size of primary schools in four distinctive regions within Australia in 2010. Overall, the class size of 21 to 25 students was the most common in most of the states with the exception of South Australia. It is also worth noting that having more than 30 students each class was the least favorable among all surveyed areas.
With regard to New South Wales and South Australia, the rate of 21 to 25 pupils accounted for 37% and 33% respectively. Looking closely at South Australia, the class size of 20 students or fewer reported the highest percent, while that of New South Wales was lower than 10%. Classes with 26 to 30 students in New South Wales were relatively high, standing at 33%, whereas, the figure for South Australia was less than 5%. However, there was a similar between these areas, which had an equal in class size of 30 students or more.
At the same time, 21-25-student class size occupied the largest number in Australia Capital Territory and Western Australia as well, standing at 51% and 44% respectively. Classes with 20 students or fewer recorded at 38% in the capital region and 26% in the Western Australia. In addition, classes with 26 to 30 students in Western Australia were significantly larger than 17% in Australia Capital Territory. Last, the size of classes with over 30 students in Western Australia (5%) were fivefold compared to the capital area (1%).
