Overall, it is clearly seen that by far the most money was spent on teacher salaries, while insurance was the lowest percentage of annual school cost spending.
Looking at the details, in 1990, teacher salaries composed 40% of total school spending, followed by teachers salaries (28%). Spending on furniture and equipment, insurance, and books accounted for 14%, 2%, and 15%, respectively; however, the negligeble amount of the budget was spent on technology (1%).
In 2000, there was a significant increase in expenditure on teacher salaries and books, at 50% versus 20%, whilst furniture and equipment fell dramatically (2%). Also, insurance and technology spendings over the time rose slightly, with 3%.
By 2010, teacher salaries and books budget had fallen, at 45% as opposed to 9%. In addition, year by year school’s spendings on technology rose tremendously from 3% to 20% whereas insurance increased by 5%.
