The table given illstrate five different countrie based on the salaries of secondary school teachers in 2009.
Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that Luxembourg recorded the highest salaries to teachers, both at the beginning and the maximum level, whereas the opposite was true for Australia. Additionally, most countries take about 30 years or more to reach peak wages, with the exception of Denmark and Australia.
In the beginning, teachers in Luxembourg had the highest starting salary, at $80,000, which was nearly three times higher than Japan at $28,000. Denmark was second with $47,000, while Korea and Australia started at $30,500 and $34,600 respectively. After 15 years, Luxembourg teachers still earned the most at $112,000, while Australia’s salary stayed at $48,000.
At the maximum level, Luxembourg remained at the top with $139,000. Korea came second at $84,500, while Japan reached $62,400. Denmark and Australia had the lowest top salaries, at $54,000 and $48,000. In terms of time, teachers in Denmark and Australia took the shortest time to reach the highest salary (8 and 9 years), while Korea took the longest time, 37 years.
