The bar chart illustrates data about the percentage of social networkers average time spent on four different types of social media (Facebook, twitter, Instagram, snapchat) over a four-year period between 2016 and 2020. The measures are given in minutes.
Overall, it is clear that the figure for twitter and Instagram saw an upward trend while, the opposite was true for Facebook. However, the figures for snapchat remained more or less unchanged. Interesting point is that the figure for Facebook was a dominant at the beginning of the period, but it became lower than others at the end of the period.
Looking at the increases first, the percentage of average time started almost the same at 23minutes on twitter and Instagram. After the share of Instagram rose sharply to 40minutes in 2017, it was not maintained dominant level and declined significantly until 15 minutes. Then, there was a significant growth at 35minutes in 2020. The figure for twitter went up significantly from 23minutes in 2016 to 45minutes in 2020.
By contrast, the duration of Facebook was dominant in 25 minutes in 2016. Then there was a dramatic decrease from 25 to 3 at the end of the period. According to the rate of snapchat was increased rapidly from 15 to 45 until 2019, then it became nearly to initial level.
