The given line chart represents the number of crimes in Newport City from 2003 to 2012. Mainly in three different areas of crime, such as burglary, car theft, and robbery.
Overall, it can be seen that the number of reported incidents of Burglary declined in these years, whereas the number of incidents of Car Theft hovered around 2500 cases reported per year. Robbery cases remained essentially unchanged.
At the start of the period, burglary cases were most prominent. It peaked in 2004 at just over 3,500 cases, then dropped dramatically until 2008, fluctuating around 1,250 cases per year afterward. Robbery was the least reported crime since the beginning and concluded with almost 500 cases reported per year.
On the other hand, cases of car theft were slightly above 2,500 in 2003, and over the period of 2 years, it remained stagnant. Afterwards, fluctuated between 2,000 to 2,500 incidents per year.
