Although assessment has been part and parcel of the education system, it is always argued its effectiveness. While some individuals support conventional method of examination considering that it is the best way to evaluate, others believes that continual evaluation is more productive. In my opinion, formal examination is more fruitful and I will express with some evidence in this essay.
It begins with, formal assessment procedure are reliable since the tests are prepared under strict guidelines and control taking into account every necessary skill that needs to be evaluated. Moreover, because of the developing technologies, nowadays different methods of precaution like CCTV, which can guarantee fair results. To exemplify, in my country, there are taken the national unified test every year for applying to the university by which you can verify your knowledge. In short, candidate is evaluated appropriately.
Furthermore, when the candidate is estimated by doing coursework or projects, it might not always done by them. To cite an example, personally I had my relatives done most of school homework and it is common in most of families. Parents help their children in the completion of assignments in order to submit it on time and get a good mark. Thus, we can say that it is not a working method to judge students abilities.
To summarise, looking at the discussion it is clear that formal testing represent better outcomes instead of testing by projects. And I hope in the future many countries adopt this way of evaluation because of the effectiveness.
