The transportation system in city areas is provided with more money sources than its counterparts in rural areas. The reason is that cities are more developed and wider so there is a need for people to receive a convenient transport system and it can be solved by raising more funds through taxation from people who live in those deprived areas.
Since industrial revolution, there have been lots of advancements in cities, therefore, the desire in people for reaching their destination faster and cheaper has increased a lot. Individuals’ workplace is now far from their accommodation place so government needs to provide more affordable and extensive public transportation for the population by constructing extra roads, new and fast-speed trains and increasing the bus stations throughout a wide area. For example, there is a major difference between the transport system in villages in and cities in the US because the majority of the population work on agriculture and their own farms so there is no need for a public transport system.
As for what we can do to solve this issue is to raise fund for the construction of roads and extend the public transport through collecting tax. By collecting tax from the local people of that particular area, the infrastructure of the roads will be facilitated. For example a suburban area near Izmir in Turkey, the mayor tried to collect taxes from the local people and since then they have been able to construct roads and provide more buses so it could make it easier for villagers to travel to the near cities.
In conclusion, the factor that contributes to the issue of difference between the fund that is given to the urban transport system and the fund that is given to rural transport system is the advancements cities have experience and the essential need for citizens to have a better transport system. The solution is for government to obtain an amount of money through taxation form the rural people who want their village to have an extensive transportation system.
