The two pie charts presented below illustrate various changes in the industrial sector of the economy in Turkey from the year 2000 to 2016.
Agriculture was the largest contributing sector in 2000, accounting for 24%, but it decreased to 14% by 2016. Despite this decline, it remained a significant sector. The Leisure and Hospitality sector also saw a slight decrease, from 17% to 14% in 2016.
The Government sector experienced a decline from 12% to 9%. In contrast, the finance, business, and other sectors exhibited a minor increase, rising from 5% to 8%. The Construction sector showed a major increase, growing from 3% to 10% by 2016. Similarly, Manufacturing also increased, from 8% to 12% in 2016.
Healthcare and Education maintained consistency, remaining steady at 17% from 2000 to 2016. Trade, Utilities, and Transportation showed a slight increase, moving from 14% to 16%.
