Band 5: The maps describe the current layout of a school as well as some proposals to its structure for a future year, 2025. (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The two pictures compare the layout of school as it is in present time with a future site design for the year 2025.

It is clear that the main change for 2025 involves the addition of science building and the reduction in amount of parking spaces.

Currently, the school has a main large school building at the centre. Parking with 200 spaces which is placed in the north of the school, will be reduced to 150 spaces, one to the north and the other to the east. In addition to that, school has large playground area in the south of the school that is decided to make smaller in 2025 year’s plan. Instead, tennis and basketball areas are planned to replace the west site of the playground.

Similarly, while canteen, which is placed in the west of the centre, will be reconstructed to the east of the school building, science building is built on the original site of it. Additionally, in 2025, though there will be lots of changes in the school, football yard and sports building are decided to remain unchanged, locating in the south-west site of the school building.
