Technological advancements are always advantageous and generates a huge revenue too. However, in which context this statement is written, first we have to understand that. I am agreeing on both the argument, and I am putting my thoughts on the next paragraphs.
There is always going to be good and bad in the technologies in both the generations. Example, earlier computer and xerox machines had a huge impact on masses and their impacts are still seen. On the contrary, earlier we use to use toxic chemicals in farming land for better yielding of crops, but that technology backfired to us by giving us diseases and killing numerous animals and putting them on an endangered list.
Now, let’s see current scenario, we have got tremendously powerful tools like Artificial Intelligence, automation and what not. But we also got our privacy being taken, ordinary people are getting addicted to the technologies, games, social media etc. Nowadays, majority normal people are not doing productive things. So, yes both the era has an advantages and disadvantages of their own. What is important is a context. I would like to give one more point of view in the following paragraphs.
Let’s understand this context, from self/personal point of view, how do you feel about technological changes happening affects you? if answer is positive then you have used technology in a good manner and if negative then you had done something wrong with your usage.
Then, please check how technological development had impact on your family or in a friend’s circle? and lastly, how technological changes impacts in an overall society/community/city or a nation? example: The rainwater harvesting had helped Israel who is dessert nation to a water surplus nation.
In my conclusion, technological developments have both positive and negative effects, and it is fully dependent on how people are using it. Public should have consciousness about their consumption. Someone had said this perfectly, ” There is no good or bad in this world, it is about their perception of that situation”.
