In recent years, many graduated
adolescents from a various countries are struggling to get a stable job. One of the main causes is most young people are lack of practical skills and market needs, and in order to address this issue governments and educational establishments should offer job opportunities and practical courses to enable them to stand out in the competitive job market.
Initially, most of the young graduated people are eager to get a well-paid job as soon as they graduated regardless of the adequacy in practical skills. On the other hand, many employers do not have interest in employing the employees who are lack of experiences. As a consequence, many graduated adolescents become underemployments. For instance, in Myanmar, there are over a million of young people who are unemployment, and mismatch between profession and job.
However, there are many measures that governments and universities could take to mitigate the problem. Firstly, the governments should provide implement job creation programs which could enable young people to get a secure stable job. Moreover, they should encourage local companies to promote internship and apprenticeship schemes for the final year students to obtain practical practices. Eventually, the universities could revise the curriculum to match industry needs in order to reduce mismatches between education and market requirements. To give a prime example, Yangon University tend to revise their curriculum based on the real-world employment need, and it could soar the number of students who get a stable job after graduation.
In conclusion, although the main reason why many graduated students struggle to get a secure job is lack of experiences, there are many solutions that the governments and educational institutions take such as arranging internships programs and introducing targeted practical classes.
