The map illustrates a comparison between the city of Nelson in 2000 and today. Overall Nelson City improved drastically with multiple different buildings and facilities being added since 2000.
The city of Nelson only had a four public facilities in 2000. Nelson only had one road for vehicles passing through. The left of the road lies a port next to a river. A large university was established on the north of Nelson. On the right of the university was a train station. Below the train station, an old market was built. The center of the city lies a city centre.
Currently, Nelson City improved its facilities tremendously. Next to the university now is the hall of residence and a shopping centre. The train station was enhanced and moved to the front of the campus. A tramline is now available that directly connects to the city centre where new bike rentals are placed. Arounf the city centre, a new shop was made in place of the old market, and a new covered market is built. The road that was once for cars is now exclusive for pedestrians. Across the road is where the restaurant, port and bars and clubs are established.
