The charts demonstrate the proportion of pupil taking in plenty of coures on one adult education facility in 1985 and this year.
Overall, the percentage of modern languages and art decrease through years, while that of cookery grew significantly. Also, parts of music appreciation and local history were replaced by IT.
In 1985, number of students taking state-of-the-art languages courses such as French, German, and Spanish accounted for the hightest proportion, at approximately 24%. The figure for well-being activities and dance was just slightly below, at 22%. Meanwhile, the percentages of students joining art, cookery, and local history were similar to each other, about 15%. Yet, music appreciation had the lowest proportion of students, just at 8%.
Through years, the development in popularity of IT and culinary workshops has substituted music activities and local history and become the most attracted courses among students, whose proprotion is 27%. Also, the figures for the category of cookery witness a significant increase to 19%. In contrast, learning new languages does not intrigue pupil as they used to when the percentage of turnout decrease to 17%. The same phenomenon applied to art when the percentage of joining persons drop by 2%, while that of workout and dance remain unchanged.
