In today’s world, globalization has become an essential component in people’s lives, including in food production. Individuals can go to shops and buy global food product. In my opinion, it is a positive development because of its variety and availability.
Firstly, food produced all over the world are diverse and people can choose non-local products and it provides them more options to cook different and interesting food. For example, in Kazakhstan, individuals who prefer Korean and Japanese food or snacks can go to supermarkets and buy products such as ramen noodles or strawberry-flavoured milk. As a result, local people do not have limits and problems to taste another flavours or cuisines of other countries.
Secondly, imported food has become more affordable for ordinary people. Globalisation makes many products cheaper due to mass production and increased international competition. For instance, many fruits such as bananas or oranges, which are imported from other countries, are often sold at very low prices in local supermarkets. Moreover, these products are available throughout the year, even when they are out of season locally, which makes healthy food more accessible for everyone. As a result, consumers have more freedom and flexibility in choosing what to eat throughout the year.
In conclusion, globalisation has made a wide range of international food products both easily accessible and affordable. This development not only allows people to enjoy diverse cuisines but also enables them to maintain a flexible and healthy diet throughout the year. Therefore, I believe that the increasing availability of global food is a highly positive trend.
