Overall, it is clear that while community schools saw a significant increase, the persantage of students attending to voluntary controlled schools experienced a steady decline throughout the period.
In 2000, voluntary controlled schools was dominant attendance rate at 52%, but this statistic fell sharply to 38% in 2005 and dropped further to 20% by 2009. A similar download trend had been seen in grammar schools, where the persentage decreased from 24% in 2000 to 19% in 2005, and then to 12% in 2009. Specialist Schools experienced a slight but steady fall, declining from 12% to 11% and finally to 10%.
On the other hand the community schools confirmed a remarkable grow. Starting at onle 12% in 2000, their proportion more than doubled to 32% in 2005 and increased further to reach 58% by 2009, making them the most popular school type by the end of the period.
