Overall, looking from a general perspective, the amount of adult fiction and children’s fiction books was an increase in, whereas biography and others books sold was a decrease in as the years pass. In addition, travel books sold represented irregular rise and fall.
In 1972, it can be observed that other books had the highest sales rate, accounting for 25% of the total. Adult fiction, children’s fiction and biography books accounted for similar shapes, at a total of the whole population. However, travel books sold was the smallest proportion, at 15%
On the other hand, in 1992, adult fiction book sales captured the highest sales rate, making up 25%, followed closely by children’s book sales. Others and biography books accounted for nearly similar shares, each representing about 19%.
Finally, in 2012, adult fiction book sales increased and continued to guard its location after forty years, which had the highest sales proportion, representing 45% of the total, and followed again by children’s books. The other groups maked up roughly similar rate, about 10%.
