Nowadays, cosmetology itself has become a crucial part of a self-care routine for many people. The most effective way is being done by the cosmetic surgery method, which is developing smoothly, including different medical procedures. One of the main reasons for this trend is people’s desire to stay young, along with the growing influence of social media. Although cosmetic procedures have positive effects on people’s appearance, I consider this phenomenon a negative development for several health-related reasons.
A common reason for this rising involvement in cosmetic surgeries is unrealistic beauty standards, which appear suddenly and change rapidly. Many people are addicted to beauty trends, so they do not analyze consequences before the procedure. Although the effect is usually positive and visible after the surgery, it can lead to many health-related issues, such as infections, poor vision, and other complications. Advertisements on social media usually influence people’s opinions about this self-care method, convincing people that
their health will not be affected, which is false.
Natural beauty was always valued more in the past, but now, I guess only a limited number of people think so. There is a list of negative consequences of cosmetic surgeries, but humans close their eyes just to fit into a beautiful picture. Personally, for me, health is a priority, and the natural beauty of each individual is unique and given by nature, so making changes in your body and face is inappropriate in many ways.
