Nowadays, some people think that having one language in the world has a lot of advantages. From my perspective, it will help us in studying abroad and tourism; however, it’s going be disadvantageous for our culture and identity hugely.
Having a single global language makes traveling easier for discovering the world and for tourists to adapt to the country. Studying English abroad has been challenging for everyone; it’s the fastest way to acquire knowledge better than any other language. Moreover, English opens numerous opportunities for work, friends, and tourism. It predominantly improves our skills in a wide range of fields, specifically by creating life experiences such as in technology, medicine, engineering, etc. English is a universal language and is utilized in several ways in politics and economics, namely, it assists us in discovering people from various countries and creates collaboration between us and other nationalities.
On the other hand, if we consider English as a monolingual language, it conceivably despises our identity and makes it weak. This also creates a worthless generation compared with other nations. People who don’t depend on another language are incapable of innovation. Studying a foreign language could create a lot of challenges in communication and understanding people in conversation. This will be harmful in society to adapt to varied cultures, specifically for conservation and preservation.
Generally speaking, I believe we can be multilingual in some aspects and this could be beneficial for education, employment, and tourism. However, we shouldn’t forget our own native language to continue to support and preserve our culture for future generations.
