Nowadays, employers believe that academic qualifications are more important than life experience and personal qualities. This essay will discuss the reasons for this and explain why I believe this is a negative development.
One reason for this is that academic qualifications are easy to measure. Employers receive many applications, so they need a quick way to choose workers. A degree shows that a person has basic knowledge and training. In addition, some jobs require technical skills that are usually learned in universities.
However, I believe this is a negative development. Personal qualities such as teamwork, responsibility and communication are very important in the workplace. Many people learn these skills from real life experience, not from university. If employers focus only on degrees, they may miss good workers.
In conclusion, although academic qualifications are useful, I believe that life experience and personal qualities are equally important for success at work.
