In our century, child’s family has an effect on their growth even though external influences play a much more significant role in their lives. I totally agree with the statement because children’s social environment has an essential impact on their development, while social media and video games also shape their personality and behavior.
The main reason why outside influences have an impact on children is because of spending time with people they keep around themselves. For example, these days children usually love to be around their friends, which leads to them copying the way their friends act. Therefore, it can shape child’s emotional safety, confidence, identity and behavior.
Another reason is due to children mostly affected by the social media these days. Social media has types of content where some of them might be useless without making any sense. Today’s young generation spend time on social media with this kind of content and become addicted to scrolling through tiktoks or instagram. After a while, it makes them more socially isolated with community and avoid the reality. Moreover, we can also consider the video games with violent content. Especially male children are more affected by these video games, which changes their emotional behavior making them feel aggression most of the time.
To summarize, nowadays external factors have a major part in child’s development rather than their family.
