Many are of the belief that the authority takes responsibility for transporting students to school, while others argue that it is the responsibility of parents. Personally, I believe that both the government and parents should share equal responsibilities.
On the one hand, many people advocate the government should be responsible because they can offer clear benefits for equity and traffic management. A comprehensive bus systems can ensure that all students can go to school safely and equally, particularly those living in remote and poor areas, including ethnic minority communities where these children usually have limited access to education due to long distances and poor infrastructure. As a result, such a measure can provide equal chances for all children accessing education. Furthermore, organized public transportation for students would reduce emissions, thereby helping to decrease environmental pollution and traffic congestion.
On the other hand, proponents of parental responsibility argue that parents are equally responsible for this issue. They argue that transporting children to school is an inherent part of parenting and daily family life. Many parents consider it their responsibility to ensure their children arrive at school safely and on time. In addition, personally taking children to school can allow families greater flexibility in managing their daily schedules. Parents can adjust travel times according to their work commitments or other household responsibilities, making the routine more convenient for the entire family. Furthermore, the journey to school can also provide valuable opportunities for parents and children to communicate which contributes to strengthening family bonds.
