Some individuals believe that history is an effective subject for students to learn. Whereas, others argue that it wastes students’ time. From my perspective, it is of vital importance for students to learn history for several reasons.
To begin with, students learn a great deal of knowledge from history subjects. History can teach students learn from its mistakes. Let’s take a look at Chinese history subjects in schools. Many students learned that some emperors were self-centered and only focus on their personal leisure, instead of improving the lives of countrymen. From these experiences, students are reminded that they should pay more attention to their personal progress rather than playing. In addition, many policies nowadays were from the improved rules from the past. students can realize the laws in recent years. There were numerous policies eliminated with time go by, and history subject can help students understand their disadvantages. For example, leaders were always followed by their ancestors in ancients, which caused some of them have no ability to manage country. However, leaders are chosen by people nowadays, making it more reasonable and acceptable.
Moreover, history is a part of countries’ culture. As we know, culture is the root of countries, which can assist people to have ardent love for the motherland.
