In this modern era, artificial intelligence has emerged as a vital part in human life. Among various issues related to this technology, the question of whether AI can replace traditional teachers at school or not has sparked a heated debate. While some people assume that the advantages of cognitive machines outweigh those of human beings, thus taking over the tutoring role in the classroom, I firmly disagree with the given view.
Admittedly, AI is superior to some extent. Firstly, AI provides students with sufficient learning materials with only a mouse click. As this system operates based on algorithms and available sources of information on global networks, it might search and suggest suitable understanding for users immediately. This feature helps learners save their time and reduce transportation fees; therefore, they can focus entirely on assignments and upgrade studying productivity. Secondly, applying AI teachers to classrooms may enhance student’s technological skills. Once pupils get used to IT infrastructures, they may nurture a fondness and curiosity for technology, which soon leads to further exploration in this field. Thereby, the future labour force can be tech-savvy and bring about technological breakthroughs, thus revolutionising civilization.
However, human teachers remain irreplaceable in every classroom. A noteworthy point is devotion. Specifically, conventional teachers can track students’ attention and levels of understanding using their pedagogical profession, thereby sufficiently allocating suitable care for each learner. While AI can only control students through periodic test results, human tutors supervise both practicing behaviors and daily progress, which means objective evaluations could be formed for the young generations. Moreover, traditional teachers play an instrumental role in conveying humane messages and shaping individual morality. With empathy and timely support, teachers can encourage the young to keep boosting their qualifications and prevent juvenile crimes, especially in this sophisticated society.
In conclusion, from the aforementioned points, it is my reaffirmation that even if AI is extremely beneficial in many cases, human teachers will never be replaced in order to maintain the holistic development of human beings. Therefore, people should integrate both factors to foster their knowledge while preserving good morals.
