Nowadays, the traditional arts receive the least amount of budget compared to sports in several countries. It can be argued that investment in sports is justified because it brings unity among countries and improvement in physical and mental health. I partially agree with this statement.
There are several reasons why people think sports play a crucial role in uniting nations and contributing to health. One of the most significant reasons is that sports facilitate national communication. To cite an example, when the government initiates a sports competition in their homeland, players and tourists from different countries arrive. This can excel not only in unity, but also create economic benefits. Another reason is to develop physical and mental health. If people engage in outdoor activities, such as cricket, football, and badminton, they can keep their bodies fit. Consequently, people can be relieved from obesity and mental stress, and it can improve socialization.
On the other hand, traditional arts, namely painting, sculpture, and music, are also important for people. By doing these activities, people can be creative and improve their problem-solving skills. For instance, making competition among students in drawing, singing, and stage performing can boost their skills, communication, and creativity. Additionally, these kinds of activities make people more socialized. But investment in sports should be more than these traditional arts.
In conclusion, although traditional activities have some advantages, from my perspective, I think investment in sports is more needed due to their significant benefits.
