It is argued that earning plays the main role in a job choice. I disagree with this statement since work satisfaction and the balance between work and life should be considered as the significant features in this case.
On the one hand, there are clear arguments that salary has a vital role in people’s occupations. One of the main reasons can be that well-paid jobs can ensure financial stability and help people to cover their daily needs, such as food, accommodation, and other daily expenditures, which can reduce mental problems like the worries for the future. For example, the research conducted by the International Labour Organization states that 53-55% young demographics choose to work in areas, including computer services and medicine owing to providing higher wages and better job prospects. Another reason could be career inspiration. In other words, high salary may encourage people to work hard because they feel their efforts as reward. This case cannot only bring benefits for companies’ productivity but also motivate employees.
On the other hand, I agree with the viewpoint that there are also more important aspects in job selection. Firstly, l believe that job satisfaction is very essential for encouragement. Due to the fact that people might feel pleasure for their works better and stay in their professions further. Taking artists as an example, who may not earn much more money, however, their 78-83% enjoy their job positions that they want. Consequently, they could feel happiness too much compared to people who only work for money. Secondly, l also feel that work-life balance would be a significant factor due to not replacing of salary in health and family gatherings. This is mainly because stressful jobs with long working hours may harm both physical and mental well-being. For instance, a person who works day and night can gain more money, but they may suffer from stress, fatigue and weak family bonds over time according to a study conducted by the World Health Organization.
In conclusion, even though wage is important when choosing a job because of financial security and professional ambition, I believe that work enjoyment and personal-professional balance are also necessary for this trend.
