In recent years, there is been an ongiong debate on whether it is important to study and analyze historical events. Although, some are convinced that the knowledge could be used to prevent future mistakes, others believe the situation nowadays is incomparable to the one in the past. In this essay, I will discuss both views and provide my personal opinion.
On one hand, history includes many noteworthy individuals, whose influence can be still seen. Figures, such as Jesus who created religions, genius inventors like Edison whitout who our technological development would be on a much lower level, or fearless generals as Sun Zu whose tactical skill are applied in modern-day business, can all be learned a lot from in many different branches. Not only should be examine lives of these individuals, but also key events that formed our society throughout the history of mankind. The challenges we have togeather overcome can serve as a great example to how we should treat similar situation these days.
On the other hand, the world has significantly changed in the last 100 years, due to which it sound unreasonable to follow advice of people from completely different settings. That includes level of development, political situation, unceartanty of life and less freedom, which all contributed to people having fully different view on life and their possibilities.
All in all, there are solid arguments on both sides. Nevertheless, from my perspective exeptional individuals will inspire us regardless of the era they lived in and conflicts that arise are for the same reasons.
