Some people think that investing more resources in young generations is an optimal way to prepare for the future. Personally, I partly agree with this suggestion due to some reasons that are explained in this essay.
The strongest reason is that young people are not just only a normal social group. They will be doctors, teachers , scientists , parents or voters who are future workers. If they grow up with poor education, weak health ,limited opportunities or surrounded by bad conditions, they cannot become useful citizens in the future. By contrast, investment in young individuals guarantees a long-term return which depends on their abilities and talents to support the national economy. When learning good things from schools or societies, they can use those qualities to contribute to society again. Good schools, vocational training or government subsidies are not only for individual aspects. They create a generation that is more skilled , more flexible, more open-minded and they will use their knowledge to create a better society. This especially important when some young people want to become politician in the future because they can have the right to change the rules which support residents to have a better lives.
However, there are other things that the government should invest in to prepare for the future. If a country only focuses on the young generation , they can overlook the importance of present national conditions such as weak public institutions, poor transport, unaffordable housing or unstable economy. If leaders want young people to support their country in the future, they should implement rules, policies to help young individuals access a better learning environment. Schools should provide extra courses or practical training that are compulsory for their future occupations . This actually can reduce the rate of unemployment because graduates have enough knowledge or experience related to the jobs they do in the future.
In conclusion, I believe that investing in the young generation plays a crucial role in preparing for a country’s future. However, governments should consider and strike a balance between money spend directly on them and others factors such as society conditions.
