Overall, people aged 35-54 had the highest percentage in both years, although their number decreased in 2020. In contrast, the percentages of younger people and older people increased over the period.
In 2000, the largest group of visitors was people aged 35-54, at 50%. The second biggest group was 25-34 years old with 20%. People aged 55+ made up 16%, while children aged 0-15 accounted for 10%. The smallest group was visitors aged 16-24, at only 4%.
By 2020, the percentage of visitors aged 35-54 had fallen to 35%, but it was still the biggest group. The figure for people aged 55 and over increased significantly to 26%. Visitors aged 16-24 also rose sharply from 4% to 15%. In comparison, the percentage of people aged 25-34 decreased from 20% to 12%. Finally, the proportion of children aged 0-15 increased slightly from 10% to 12%.
