Overall, swimming maintain its dominance throughout the period, while Tennis was the least popular. Football and basketball demonstrated a significant change, but others just fluctuated.
In 1990, the two most common sport for French secondary school are swimming, and other, accounting for 39% and 25% respectively. A same percentage of 16% can be seen in basketball and football, whilst only 4% of teenagers showed interest in Tennis.
In 2000, the popularity of swimming rose to 48% before dropping to 41% in 2010. Basketball and other first decline around 2-6% then reached roughly to 20% at the finishing year. A noticeable fluctuation was shown in Football, the figure climbed slightly to 18% before dipped to 8% in 2010, which was halved of the percentage presented in 1990.the interest toward tennis only escalated by 3% at the end
