Nowadays, migration into bigger cities from smaller ones is a thing. So many people are choosing to follow this path since they think bigger cities have more chances than the smaller ones. However, moving away from rural cities are not a positive development even thought it seems as it is.
Rural cities with small population such as villages are disregarded by so many people because they think that these cities offer nothing when they are compared to cities. In fact, this is not true. Rural cities also contribute to the economy but in a different way. While big cities have offices and companies, rural places have agriculture and farming. And moving out of these rural towns means that there will be less people for agriculture and farming. As being said, those two have great contributions to economies. Without them, countries might suffer from food shortage. Moving into cities will also increase the population density in bigger cities and help create new ghettos in the outskirts. Istanbul is a great example of it since so many Turkish are choosing Istanbul to establish a new life and help dense the population and create new ghettos by leaving rural areas empty.
Conversely, it is understandable for some people to try and find a new life in cities. Although, rural parts have farming and agriculture, most of them do not have efficient infrastructure such as education, healthcare. Additionally, these communities do not offer too much in terms of factories aofficesies. If a person wants to work in a factory, it may be a bit hard for him/her to find a suitable job. In this case, big cities could be a more suitable option. Also, parents who want to raise kids may choose cities since big cities might have better schools, better hospitals.
In my opinion, migration to big cities is a negative development although it seems like it is not. These people in big cities might not get used to the way of living and fall behind. Studies show that people who are leaving away their agricultural lands or animals behind are not likely to succeed in bigger cities. Additionally, so many countries such as Turkey are now promoting their citizens to move back to rural areas by offering tax deduction and other benefits. Governments should work on re-migration to rural parts by improving infrastructure and services, so that people might want to move back and they should also help the population to be distributed equally across the country.
To conclude, leaving rural areas empty is a not positive development. Big cities and their opportunities charm the people in the rural ares. However, there is a huge risk of failing. In fact, governments should promote and work on migration back to rural communities by offering benefits and working on infrastructure. By that, more people will want to stay or move in to the countryside so that agriculture and farming can come to life.
