Some people argue that teaching how to farm and raise animals should be included into primary school curriculum.
The primary advantage of this policy is that it instills love of nature into children. The more time children spend in nature, the more affectionate they become towards it. Learning these kinds of lessons at school would be invaluable due to their effects on sustainable development of children in the way of protecting nature. The reason why it should be taught by public and private schools is that it is the responsibility of educational institutions to contribute to the children’s holistic growth in the best possible way. Most of the environmental issues that are caused by people can only be solved by raising eco-friendly generation.
However, the implementation of this policy will put a heavy strain on the governments’ budget. It would not be very favorable to invest in all schools since they have to allocate considerable sums of money due to some expenses coming from accommodation, fuel, foods and veterinary care for animals, fertilizers and huge amounts of water consumed by plants. Governments can lean heavily on the other valuable environmental organizations instead, which would be more useful due to their world-wide applications in all industries.
In conclusion, while some individuals claim that primary children should be taught to care for the natural world, it has some advantages and disadvantages that should be considered by the governments and schools.
