In North America and Europe, most of the water is used in companies and manufacturing facilities, at 48% and 53%, respectively. Cultivating crops takes up 39% of the water in North America and 32% in Europe. On both continents, domestic usage accounts for 15% of the total water volume.
Greens use roughly 80% of the water in Africa and Asia, while in South America, they use 71% of the water for the same function. South Americans use an astounding 19% of their water for residential needs—more than any other region. Only less than 15% of their water consumption is contributed to manufacturing units, unlike in North America and Europe.
