The line graph illustrates the amount of emissions emitted in the air form three different sources namely industry, transport and household from 1995 to 2005.
Overall, there was a downward trend in the total number of air pollutants, which was the result of the decline in the number of air released in industry and domestic sectors. In addition, the amount of air pollution released from transportation surpassed the industry sector to become the most serious issue from 2002 onwards.
At the beginning of the period, about just under 8 million tonnes of hazardous emissions emitted into the air. Thereafter, it decreased significantly to about 5 million tonnes in 2005. A similar change can be seen in the figure for the industry sector, which experienced a drastic drop of 2,8 million tonnes from 1900 to 2005.
Regarding the amount of air pollutants caused by transport and households, both of them started at exactly 1 million tonnes in 1990. After That, while the figure for the transport sector had an upward fluctuation, rising to 1,2 million tonnes in 1999, the figure for the domestic sector remained unchanged at this level. On 1999 onwards, the amount of emission released into the air from vehicle increased considerably to exactly 3 million tonnes. In contrast, the figure for households decreased slightly to 0 million tonnes in the final year.
