Nowadays, with the development of technology, learning online is no longer a strange thing. Some people argue that studying in conventional school is not crucial as children can study at home. I completely disagree with this opinion for several reasons.
Firstly, learning via the internet may give bad results to children. When studying at home, they are often influenced by external factors such as video games, television, or even due to unstable connections without no supervision. A good illustration of this is during the quarantine period during the COVID-19 pandemic, lots of parents said that the quality of their children’s learning dropped significantly and their knowledge was very lacking when studying online which made parents worried about their children’s growth.
Moreover, it causes children to have poor communication skills. Studying at home via the Internet means that they just study alone in front of the screen without interacting with friends or teachers. If this continues for a long period of time, it will cause children to lose confidence and fear when having to communicate with strangers.
Additionally, it also affects teachers because they hard to transmit knowledge when teaching online. The lack of facilities for teaching makes teaching more difficult. For example, many subjects like Physics or Chemistry need more practice to better understand these operating principles or chemical reactions.
In conclusion, even though in the 4.0 era where technology develops, conventional methods of teaching are still better for kids’s growth, and only then we can make this world a better place for the upcoming generation.
