Some people go through life doing work they dislike or lack the skills for. Today, I want to share my personal experience on this topic. To be honest, I have always hated English, but after completing my higher secondary exams, I decided to pursue my graduation abroad. For higher education, I needed to learn English, which I found unappealing and had no interest in. As a result, I have felt uncomfortable in my work.
Many individuals, like me, often find themselves doing unwanted jobs to fulfill someone else’s dreams. For instance, a person may have lost their father and now feels obligated to support their family, taking any job available, regardless of their personal preferences. This can lead to a loss of motivation and work spirit.
Additionally, many students can’t continue their education because their families cannot afford the expenses. Faced with this financial burden, they may take jobs they dislike. This situation can lead to mental instability, as they feel insecure in their roles. Consequently, they may lose hope and turn to harmful coping mechanisms such as drugs or alcohol. In some cases, individuals may even become unemployed.
I believe these are significant reasons behind such circumstances. It is important not to force ourselves into doing something we don’t enjoy. We should pursue what we are passionate about in life. If you don’t need to work with English, then there’s no need to learn it. Conversely, if you enjoy going to the gym, then focus on that without worrying about other things.
