Nowadays, there is a lot of information about travelling to space spreading throughout the world. Some people think that travelling in space is a waste of government funds whereas others argue that it is essential for the development of human life. In this essay, I will examine the perspective about these views and propose some opinions.
One compelling reason why travelling to outer space is wasting government funds is because the cost of money which the government has to spend to create a sophisticated rocket with an advanced technology and can only be used once is expensive. Moreover, the lack of human resources is also a problem for some countries, especially the underdeveloped ones that have to use experts from other countries if they do not have one; however, the successful rate is not certain to discover something new that benefits humans. Furthermore, there are a lot of crucial aspects to be prioritised such as health, education or even poverty problems that impact directly on a human’s life need to be solved with the grant from the government. For instance, the poverty rate of Indonesia reaches 9.5% which can be seen in the reality that many people cannot afford to eat properly in their daily life.
However, there is an undeniable fact that many essential discoveries for human’s life have been found during outer space travelling by astronauts. For example, the problem occur in the world about over population which can be solved by doing research to find new place in space that have some suitable specification for human to move there. Moreover, when working in space, they will see the physical changes that might affect the world in the future and do analysis about the data to see whether there will be other problems that happen in the future that we can avoid.
In conclusion, when the government carries out a big experiment like this, they have to consider the country’s conditions and priorities; however, travelling to space contributes to many benefits for humans in many aspects of life. However, I believe that conducting this experiment needs developed countries to take care of because they already have advanced technology to use.
