The given diagram illustrates that household access to digital media has varied over the years from 1994/95 to 2008 with four types of models: CD player, DVD player, mobile phone and internet connection.
A closer look at the diagram highlights the fact that all modern technology types which people use tend to increase throughout the years. CD player, mobile phone and internet connection appear and develop gradually while DVD player is the last factor to appear but it develops the fastest and eventually reaches the highest rate.
In the 1994/95 years of the graph, the CD player appears first on the patterns with 45%. After that, 17% of people began to use mobile phones. The next year, internet connection contributed to sharing with 10%. All three continue to grow each year and hold a fixed position in the sum – first is CD player with over 80%, second is mobile phone, 70% and third is internet connection, 45% – until DVD player appeared in 2002/3.
The DVD player didn’t appear until 2002/3, but it quickly surpasses the remaining patterns. Within just one year, DVD player was greater than internet connection, from 30% to 60%, and success became third position. In 2006/7, many users preferred it, bringing its ratio above mobile phone’s position – over 80%. By 2008, it led the factors with the highest percentage of users with 90%. In just 6 years, the DVD player has changed dramatically from the last position to become the most used technology medium.
