The given pie charts compare the proportion of water usage for various reasons in six different part of the world namely, North America, South America, Europe, Central Asia and South East Asia. They were measured in percentage.
Overall, it is evident from the charts that, water was used for farming purposes the most followed by Industrial use whereas domestic use was low.
It is clear from the information that, in North America, the consumption of water for industrial purpose was almost a half whiles, 39% was used for Agriculture and 13% for that of domestic usage. In contrast to North America, more water were used for farming representing 71% whiles 19% were used in homes and 10% for industrial use in South America. Europe on the other hand saw a significant increase in the percentage of water used in the industries accounting for a little over a half with 32% for Agriculture and 15% consumption for bathing, washing and drinking in their various homes.
Agriculture usage however significantly increased utilization of water in Africa and the two Asias. 84%, 88% and 81% of water were used in Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia respectively. Moreover, domestic use continued to drop from 9% usage in Africa to 7% in Central Asia and South East Asia. Meanwhile, 7% of water were consumed in Africa I’m the industries, decreased to 5% in Central Asia. However, it increased to 12% in South East Asia.
