It’s believed that sports celebrities receive too much money for their performances. While other people think that they should get paid more. In this essay I will discuss both views and provide my own opinion.
On the one hand, some people believe it is unfair that sports stars earn such high salaries. Therefore, they argue that many other professionals also dedicate significant time and effort to their work but do not receive nearly as much compensation. For example, simple workers such as cleaners also work day by day and spend a lot of energy, however their salary is meager.
On the other hand, not only do sports celebrities spend a lot of time and effort, but also risk their lives and experience stress. This is because they need to present their nation in different games and their fans put pressure on them. Thereby, sportsmen feel stressed, not wanting to disappoint supporters. Furthermore, professional sport is risky, because you can get into serious troubles and finish your successful career in one day. To illustrate, boxers get awful injuries after each fight and even can die.
To sum up, I am of the opinion that in some cases it’s really unfair regarding other workers to get such money for sport. However, it doesn’t mean that sportsmen should earn less, because they take a huge responsibility on them and even risk their health.
