The following pie charts show the use of social media by men and women in Australia in 2011 and 2014. Overall, men who never use networking sites were the biggest one in contrast to other ones, while every day usage of women was the biggest. In addition, the percentage of men was lower than women in all frequency times in these years.
Looking first of all men, in 2011, men who never use virtual platforms represent 44% of the total, and this followed by a considerable decline to 30% in 2014. Similarly, once a week used and few times used men had saw a decrease, with the respective figures amounting to from 12% and 19% to 9% and 16%. In contrast to this, man who allocated every day made up 25% in 2011 followed closely by 2014, at 45%.
While the figure for men decreased, that for women rose by using social internet. Women had a much more numbers compared with men, this was dominated by the everyday usage, which comprises nearly one third of the total (30%) in 2011 whereas that account for 59% in 2014. Women who never use social media were 8% in 2011 after which rose to 22% in 2014. This is similar with people who used few times a week with 22% in 2011 and seeing a bigger change at 9% decline. Once a week allocated women made 39% and 10% in the following years.
