The bar graph illustrates the percentage of internet usage in Taiwan by age group divided into four categories such as below 15, 16-30 years, 31 – 50 years and above 50 years in the period between 1998 to 2000. Overall, people aged between 16 to 50 years old are the most active internet users in contrast to people who are younger than 15 and older than 50 years being least active throughout the period.
To begin with the year 1998, people who are 16-30 and 31 to 50 have the highest percentage of 53% and 41% respectively whereas less than 15 and more than 50 have lowest usage of 2% and 4% internet correspondingly. Consecutively in 1999, internet consumption in groups of 16 to 50 year faced decline with result of 45% and 39% unlike the under 15 and over 50 people which increased four tines and double in internet usage.
Lastly in 2000, a slight decline in population between 16 years to 30 years and 31 to 50 years of 1% and 2% was experienced, however there is an increase in internet usage in the under 15 age group and above 50 age group with 9% and 10% in proportion.
