The diagramms illustrate the modifications that have occured at West Park Secondary School from it is establishment in 1950 to 2010 Overall, the school site underwent significant develipment over the period, with the most notable changesbeing the replacement of farmland and residential area with educational facilities, as well as the reduction in tie size of the playground.
In 1950, the school building was located in the center of the site, bordered by a main road to the north, a residential area to the west, farmland to the south, and a playground to the est. By 1980, the residential area had been replaced by a car park, and the farmland was converted into a sport field. Additionally, a new science block was constructed to the west of the main building, reducing the space available for the playground slightly.
Between 1980 and 2010, further developments were made. The carpark was extended eastwards, occupying the space where the playground had been located, leaving only small portion of playground to the south of the main building. Meanwhile, the science block and the sports field remained in their previous positions, indicating a shift in focus towards academic and infrastructural expansion rather than recreational space.
