The pie charts provide information about South Koreans who played electronic games in 2003. Overall, it is noticeable that the majority of people were male and under 18, while action was the most popular type of games.
Looking firstly at the age of players, 39% players were under 18 years old, which took the lion’s share, while that of people aging from 18 to 36 years old accounted for 38%. Meanwhile, the proportion of players above 36 years old constituted over a quarter, being the least number of participants of video games. As for gender of players, most of the players were male, making up 72%, which was significantly higher than the figure for females, at roughly one-third.
When it comes to the type of games, action was most preferred as this share documented approximately a half, which doubled the comparable numbers of sport and racing, at precisely one-fifth and 17%, respectively. Additionally, identical percentages were recorded for role-playing games and education, at 7%, while that of other kinds took a slightly smaller share, at 6%.
