The graph illustrates the amount of potatoes consumed in kilograms per person and produced in million tonnes in five areas of the world which are South and Central America, Africa, North America, Europe, and Asia in the year 2006.
Overall, Europe accounted for the highest amount of potatoes both consumed and produced, while Africa accounted for the least in both consumption and production.
Regarding the consumption of potatoes, Europe contributed by 96.1 tons per person which is the highest amount given that North Americann residents consumed 57.9 tons per person. Then, comes Asia, South and Central America, and Africa with 25.8, 23.6 and 14.1 tons per person respectively.
Regarding the potatoes produced, Asia accounted for the highest share by 131.2 million tonnes, followed by Europe with 126.3 million tonnes. And then North America by 24.7, Africa by 16.4 and South and Central America by 15.6 being the lowest area to produce potatoes.
